TASER® X26C™ Details

The TASER® X26C™ is a software upgradable Electronic Control Device (ECD). The TASER® X26C™ was modeled after the enforcement TASER® X26™ electronic control device. Utilizing the same technology as the law enforcement models, the TASER® X26C™ has incredible take down power. ECDs use propelled wires or direct contact to conduct energy to affect the sensory and motor functions of the nervous system.

The TASER® X26C™ uses a replaceable TASER® cartridge containing compressed nitrogen to deploy two small probes that are attached to the TASER® X26C™ by insulated conductive wires with a maximum length of 15 feet. The TASER® X26C™ transmits electrical pulses along the wires and into the body affecting the sensory and motor functions of the peripheral nervous system. The electrical pulses can penetrate up to two cumulative inches of clothing, or one inch of clothing per probe.

Details of the TASER® X26C™:

Anti-Felon Identification (AFID) Tags

Every time a TASER® Brand cartridge is deployed, at least 24 small confetti-like AFID tags are ejected. Each of the AFIDs is a piece of film printed with the serial number of the Air Cartridge that was loaded behind them. When the TASER® Brand cartridge is deployed, these AFID tags are dispersed at the scene. The large number of AFIDS and their small size makes it impractical to clean up. When police are called to investigate any TASER® Brand device use, they can find these tags and contact the manufacturer for a complete trace on the serial number.

The AFID program was developed and implemented by the manufacturer at their own expense. It is not required by law; they think it's the right thing to do. No other weapon in the world &m dash; guns, knives, chemical and pepper sprays, electronic defense units, or batons — can be traced from evidence at the scene of the crime to the registration of the user. It all comes back to responsibility.

Central Information Display (CID)

A digital display that communicates battery percentage, duration remaining during pulse discharge, time, date, and warranty status.

Digital Power Magazine (DPM)

An integrated power source with lithium battery cells and solid state memory module for tracking power consumption, power levels remaining, and allows for the software updates to be distributed via battery replacement.

Digital Pulse Control (DPC)

A replaceable module that allows for the engagement of targets at ranges up to 15 feet. Integrates a nitrogen propulsion system, high voltage insulated TASER® wire, bi-metal probes, and AFID serialization that was optimized for the TASER® C2™.

Laser and Illuminator Integration

The user configurable settings control laser and low-intensity illumination synchronous with safety switch operation.

Neuromuscular Incapacitation (NMI)

A key technology to disable even the most aggressive subjects, NMI temporarily over-rides the command and control systems of the body to impair muscular control.

Shaped Pulse™ Technology

The sophisticated pulse wave that utilizes a high voltage leading edge to penetrate barriers such as clothing around the body followed by a lower voltage stimulation pulse to cause Neuro-Muscular Incapacitation.

TASER® Cartridge

A replaceable module that allows for the engagement of targets at ranges up to 15 feet.  Integrates a nitrogen propulsion system, high voltage insulated TASER® wire, bi-metal probes, and AFID serialization.  Compatible with TASER® M and X Series models.
